Why hello everyone!!
I hope that all is going well with you all back in the United States. Funny story to start out with. So right next to my new apartment, there is a big soccer stadium, and just last night the United States women's team played France!! There was a lot of people out and about last night!! Unfortunately the US lost. I don't think that's the funny part. Alright, its hard to believe that just last week I was in Belgium! That is super weird for me to think about. But I will go through my last day in Belgium!
After a normal morning of studies, we went out to see A for the very last time. He wanted to feed us lunch because he knew that I would be leaving for France. So we had a nice meal, and a short spiritual thought. Then we took pictures and departed ways. It was sad to go, but I knew he has great things in store for him.
Then we had a lesson with R C, who is a super old Catholic lady. She is super nice. Then for dinner, O took us out to Pizza Hut. That was basically the last thing I did in Bruxelles!! Then the next day was transfer day!!
We woke up early in the morning and caught a train to Paris. In Paris, they took us through the metro to another train station. There we gathered as tons of missionaries. We piled up our luggage, and all waited. Missionaries came and went, and I was able to catch up with some of my MTC buddies which was good. We waited some more; then I heard a group of missionaries leaving to go to the gare (train station) that I needed to go to. So we went back on to the metro with all our luggage. I think that a bunch of people were getting annoyed, because a ton of missionaries, with a ton of luggage were all trying to get on to the metro at the same time. It was pretty intense, not going to lie.
So we made it to this next gare. Now this gare has a bad reputation. Nobody likes this gare. When people find out they are being transferred, they can only hope that they will not be going through this gare. There is only one reason: it has a ton of stairs. And no elevators. So we got off the metro at the bottom, and slowly made our way to the trains at the top. It was quite the workout. That's where I met my new companion. We caught our train, which took us to Nantes, then we had another 40 minutes before our next train, which then took us from Nantes into Lorient! It was a total of about 6 hours of trains on Wednesday..pretty long. We got off our train, and started walking to the apartment.
Now I had heard that Elder C was a super hard worker, and it is true!! It's pretty awesome. We contacted home, with my bags in hand!! It was pretty impressive. We made it home, and it is a pretty nice place; It is a four man apartment, and pretty big, with 3 different balconies. Its super nice! We have a few different rooms for everything, so it really opens up the apartment. I like it a lot!
So we have met a bunch of super cool people this week! We have seen the most recent convert, who was a Temoign Jehovah before converting. He is super nice, but a little weird at the same time. But now his mom is interested in the church, so we have been over to their house a couple of times this week! We have also seen a bunch of other people that are super awesome! I don't have much time this week, so it'll have to wait until the next.
Church was super awesome, and just about the exact opposite from Belgium. Here there is a branch of about 50 people, and 7 missionaries. It's awesome, and all of it is in French, which is different!! I love it. The area is super nice, and about 20 or 30 minutes from the ocean and the beach. It is super nice. Elder C is an absolute boss, and I'm excited for this transfer with him! He is a super hard worker, and makes me want to improve!! It's awesome!!
Well I don't have any more time this week to explain. R, the recent convert, and his mom are taking us to show us some things!! I love you all, and remember that I miss you!! Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Hamilton
