Bonjour a tous!
How did the week pass itself? Was it super good? I sure hope so! This week was super great for me! Im sure you are all curious to hear about it! I may not have that many stories..but it was still a great week! So I will start from yesterday and move backwards, if that makes sense. So yesterday was Sunday. The other equip had a baptism yesterday!! His name was Pierre, and he is Belge. They put on a wonderful service, and it turned out to be a great night! A couple members gave talks, and I led the music! So that was fun. My main man and friend Elder Sorensen preformed the service, and he did a great job. It was a very special moment for both Pierre and Elder Sorensen. Im sure it will be a memory for both of them they will never forget! Okay, saturday we had an Elders quorum activity. We played some soccer at the church! We thought that a bunch of people would show up, but it turned out to be the 4 Elders, and a German family..So the game turned out to be the Germans taking on the Americans! And..we got owned basically. Im pretty sure that because the Germans won the world cup, that that all of a sudden makes all Germans super good at soccer for the next 4 years. Thats logical, isnt it? But that was super fun. That German family is super nice, and they enjoyed creaming us. A little later on some more people showed up, so that was good as well. Lets see..I went on an exchange again to Liege this week! It was not on our normal exchange days, but it was great none the less. I was with Elder Jones. He is a canadian, who is super cool. He is a very personal, happy, out going, kind of guy, and just loves everyone! So I have a couple of stories from Liege. Im sure that you will laugh about one, and the other is just..interesting I guess? First off, Elder Jones is going home at the end of this transfer, so he has decided to make the most of the end of his mission, so he is only speaking French for the rest of his mission! He wants to work his hardest all the way to the end. Its pretty cool. That way, I also got to practice my French a bunch, as well as my comprehension! So thats good. Now on to the stories. So the first. We were out less active finding, and it started to rain. I had forgotten my umbrella when I was coming to Liege, so I was borrowing an extra umbrella. Then it started to storm! The rain was a constant wave from the sky! Then the wind started picking up. I was holding on tight to my umbrella, trying to get the most out of it, even though Im sure it wasnt doing anything, because I was soaked! So we were walking down this hill, when WHOOP. The umbrella I was holding snaps! Elder Jones starts laughing, when I say, "well yours is next!" And right as I said that, WHOOP. His breaks. So there we were, with two broken umbrellas! It was a fun experience. Its a really good thing I love the rain! Okay, next story. So one of Elder Jones' favorite songs is Touchdown Jesus by Tim McGraw. So he had been teaching me that song, and singing it in the appartment. Then that night, it was time to retire to bed because it was 10h30. Not 15 minutes after falling asleep, I wake myself up by yelling, "Touchdown Jesus!" I was super surprised, and I just hear Elder Jones ask, "You alright?" I say yeah. He asks if I knew what I just said. I say, "Touchdown Jesus?" Thats when he starts laughing! I said, I think I just woke myself up! He then told me thats because I yelled it pretty loud..haha. It was funny. But made me think. This little amusing story can be a great opportunity! I can turn that into a great spiritual thought for all of you! Basically, we are the quarterbacks of our lives. Jesus is on our team, on our side. He's the All star. He's the go to guy. He's the guy that everyone knows can when you pass him the ball, win the game for you. So all we have to do is choose correctly. We have to choose to believe in him, and his ability to win the game. In fact, he's already won the game for us. We have to have faith in him and his Atonement, and repent of our sins, and we will win the game! That was my little thought process on that. Lets see..What else this week? We saw Antonio again, and he is just as cool as ever! We also met this other lady named Mme Vandervoode. She actually called us! Her story is pretty cool. So she recieved a bookmark with our phone number on it 6 months ago! She kept it on her desk, picked it up, folded it, looked at it, put it back on her desk, moved it around on her desk. For 6 months! Then she just barely decided to call us!! Super cool. When we showed up, she was absolutely amazed! That two 20 year olds would come out here to do this work. Plus we dont drink coffee or smoke. Plus we are paying to be out here! She was absolutely amazed! Anyways, we had a good rendez vous. Lets see..I think that that is all for this week! Thank you all so much for your emails and prayers! I love you all very much! I miss you! Have a great week! Love,
Elder Hamilton
