It seems like just yesterday that I was writing to you, and now here I am again! I'm happy to be here!! I guess that I will start with questions, and the news that comes every six weeks..Transfers!! I will be staying in Lorient! There will still be four Elders in my apartment, Elder W is getting a blue, and I will be getting Elder O's MTC comp. That means he is a transfer younger than me in the mission..which means I'm senior companion, and I'm in charge sort of..I'm excited, but a little nervous!! His name is Elder Williams. Elder C and I will be going into Paris on Tuesday night, and then I will be returning with my new companion Wednesday! I'm pretty excited!!
Let's see..so this week I will go in reverse order of what happened in the week, because thats how I wrote it all down in my planner..haha, so firstly! Yesterday we had quite the eventful day at church!! First off, we had our most recent convert teach amis class, and we had 4 amis at church! That was the most that I have ever had at church on my mission! It was so cool! Then after church we had a big ol ward lunch, where everyone brought different foods, and we all sat around chatting, just having a jolly good time!! So then on saturday, we went over to the Leguenevé family house for lunch. They are a young family, and are super cool. Everyone (and when I write everyone, I mean EVERYONE!) wanted to have Elder C over to eat before his departure his upcoming week, so this week we only ate about one time at our apartment..all the other times were with people!!
J and J invited us over to eat crepes with them, and so we had a great rendez-vous with them that night! They are probably our most solid investigators, and they like things to go very slowly..so they understand, which is good! Then on Friday we had a super cool rendez-vous with Mr. H, the tahitian man that I told you about last week. So we get to his house, he invites us in, then invites his whole family to sit in with us!! So we sat down with them, and had a great rendez-vous. I think they really like us. Cause on the way out, he offered to drive us wherever we needed to go! Plus that, he gave us a huge fish. Yeah, you read that right. We were walking out of his garage to his car, and he asks, "do you want a fish? My cousin just caught these all this morning!" He pointed to a big bin just full of fish!! So then he gave us a big ol fish that is now sitting in our freezer..and no one knows how to cook it..haha!
This week C and I went on an exchange in Rennes with the zone leaders! I think C and B just wanted to do an exchange together, because they used to be comps, so on Thursday morning, we hopped on a train to Rennes, and ended up sitting by two Americans from Atlanta! That was fun, we just talked to them the entire train ride. We spent the day in Rennes before returning home to Lorient. That's the night that we also went to eat crepes with J and J. We also went to Quimper this last Wednesday for district meeting. So this week I got to see a few new cities!! That was a lot of fun!
We also got to eat with one of the branches most recent converts, and we got to eat Raclette, which just happens to be a very delicious meal that I love! Its super filling. If you don't remember Raclette, its potatoes, cheese, meat, repeat. Repeat. Repeat. And you just keep eating until your little heart's happy. Plus that we were able to do service at the Fontaines again this past week on Tuesday. Man, now that I look back at this week, the more that I realize that this week has absolutely flown by! Overall, this has been a fantastic last week of the transfer!! I'm excited for the upcoming challenge, and I'm excited to be able to learn and grow! Thank you so very much for all that you have done for me, and all that you continue to do for me and for each other!! You are all amazing! I love and miss you all very much!
Love,
Elder Hamilton
