Why hello there everyone! How are you all doing? All goes well here in Lorient. I cant believe that another week has come and gone! It is absolutely crazy to think that this transfer is already half way over, and Im sure that the next coming weeks are going to fly by! Lets see..where to start? We had a bunch of really cool experiences this week! I dont know if I have told you about Julien and Joelle, but they are super cool. Elder Cramer met Julien playing basketball one day, and he invited them over to his house! He said that the sister missionaries came by his moms house about two years ago and gave her a book of mormon and never came back. Pretty weird. But now we are here to explain to them everything they need to know! We had a pretty good rendez-vous with them this week. They are very curious, and are not afraid to ask questions, which is awesome! We had another cool experience this week. So we went to the beach! We went to the beach to go contacting. It was really cool to see the ocean! We got there, and everyone is so tranquil. People seemed to be generally nicer at the beach..maybe its because they were at the beach. Haha, who knows? But we got there, and Elder Cramer said that when we go to the beach, we have to be picky in who we contact, because everyone watches you if you contact everyone. So we found a nice bench and sat down. We said a prayer asking our Father in Heaven who we should contact. We finished, stood up, and started walking. We saw a woman sitting on this brick wall reading a book, and decided that she was the one we needed to talk to. So we went up and contacted her. She turned out to be super open, and loved sharing exactly what she believes with people. We had quite the conversation, and gave her a book of mormon! She said she was super interested to learn and find out what was inside. What an answer to our prayer!! Lets see..what else. This week I think that Elder Cramer and I broke the record for the longest contact in the history of missionary work. We were walking home one day for lunch, and contacted this mother and her son. They were super nice. We talked with them for a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes! Right there in the middle of the road! That was quite the conversation as well! They were very open to listening, and learning about us as well! Alright, time for another miracle from this week! One of our amis came back to church! His name is Antoine. So apparantly Antoine had been coming pretty strong, but missed a week, then didnt want to come back. We went and saw him, and talked about why and what all was going on. Long story short, he came back to church this past sunday, and Ive never seen him happier! Ive only seen him like 4 times, but Ive still never seen him happier! This week we also had the opportunity to do some service over at a members house. They are absolutely awesome! Let me just say that Im pretty sure all the members here are amazing. They all do so much missionary work its amazing. They are all willing to teach with us, and arent afraid to share their testimony. I dont think there are people within ten miles of each member that doesnt know that they are members. Its super cool. We had a scare this week as well. So last saturday, we were playing some basketball with some amis, when he started to feel sick. We went home, and he spent quite a bit of time throwing up and..well lets just say he spent some time in the bathroom. He called the mission nurse, and she told him of some medicine he should buy. We went out just to go to the pharmacy and return to spend the rest of the night in the appartment, but by the time we got to the pharmacist, he had contacted everyone we passed, as well as set up a rendez-vous for latter that night. Crazy kid!! Haha, but such a hard worker. Its incredible. He thinks he just ate something bad, because he felt better the next day. Sunday was also good. Ronan got to pass the sacrament for the very first time! He was super excited, and was super happy afterwards when he came to sit next to me. I was so proud of him! What a guy! Then sunday night we spent our dinner with our neighbor just above us. We made crepes with him!! He does that for work I think..but either way, he makes a good crepe. He makes them Bratange style he says!! You pour the batter on the pan, then crack an egg on top of it, and rub the egg over all the crepe, keeping the yolk in tact. Then you spread cheese around the yolk to keep it in place, then you put some sort of meat, any kind, in a square around the yolk, and then fold in the sides of the crepe to make a square. You cut off pieces, and dip it in the egg. Its super delicious. And now I am here. Monday afternoon, another week gone, and another week to come!! Thank you all for your emails and support! I love and miss you all! Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Hamilton
