Oh hey there everyone!
Another week has passed, and its time for the weekly report! Okay, this week I have a bunch of stories just about little kids! Well..only a few, but they were all awesome stories, and just adorable because they were children. The first comes from a part member family named the Nkusu. They are from africa, and all of the kids are baptized, but the parents are not. So we had a rendez-vous set up with them. We showed up, got let in and sat down at table to wait for the parents. Thats when this really little boy walks in (about 3) and walks over to their bookshelf, grabs a book of mormon in his little hand, and brings it over and gives it to my companion, then he walks back to the bookshelf, grabs another one, and brings it to me. Then he just walked out of the room! It was such a nice little act of service that was just adorable!!
The next comes from a full member family named the Di Lillo's. They are italian. We got invited over to their house for dinner, and to be their family home evening for the week! Well the Di Lillos have three little kids that only speak italian and are just insane! The whole time the parents were translating what we said into italian for the kids, while all the little kids were just running around like crazy people throwing pillows around! It was such an interesting family home evening. They opened with three different songs. One in Italian, one in german, and one in english! Yeah, talk about crazy! Then he ate dinner. Can you guess what we had? If you guessed pasta, then you were definitely right. What else would we have at an Italian families house? We also learned the importance of well cooked noodles and pasta! Brother Di Lillo was very specific in how long you should cook pasta, as well as very specific on the type of pasta, the water to pasta ratio, the salt to water ratio, and the salt to pasta ratio. Yeah, the whole time I was just thinking to myself, They are so Italian! Haha, plus that we got to listen to them speak Italian the whole night which was super cool, because Italian is a sweet language!
Okay, now I almost forgot the story about their littlest boy! So we were sitting at the dinner table, when Sister Di Lillo went to grab the dinner. While the mother was in the kitchen, the littlest boy shouted something in Italian..then a guest of theirs said, want to know what he said? We said Of course! And he had said, "Mama! You are very beautiful!" And then I thought to myself again, They are so Italian! It was awesome. Already got that romantic italian stuff going for them! Now my last thing about children this week isnt really a specific story.. I just love it when a little french child or kid will say "Bonjour!" to us as week are walking by or just on the tram or anything! I'd argue that it is one of the most adorable things ever. It doesnt happen to often, but it always puts a smile on my face when it does! So now I just have a few..normal stories I guess! So last week at district meeting, they did surprise me with a cake, as well as sang to me and all that good stuff. So that was fun. The next comes from thursday. For my language study goal, I decided that one day a week I would only speak French, and if I only spoke french that day, then I would be able to buy Frites. (Fries) So..Im proud to say that thursday I only spoke French! My companion doesnt like to buy stuff like that otherwise, so I came up with that so we could get fries! I really wanted those fries! Haha, elder Anderson was quite surprised how determined I was! Well I did it, and we got fries, and they were delicious. End of Story. haha! Here in Brussels, a couple of times a year, they have days were no one is allowed to drive cars. So on sunday, there were no cars on the road!! I was very surprised. They had barriers and cops around the city, making sure no one drove on the road! I dont think Ive ever seen so many people walking, running, riding bikes, or scooters, or roller blades ever before! There were so many bikes just riding down the middle of the road! It definitely gave the whole day a new feel to it. Now to answering questions! Church is good, its nice to go to church each week! I usually help Elder Anderson translate, meaning I sit next to him and find scriptures for him to read it the speaker is using scriptures..Its always interesting contacting people or knocking on their door, because you never know what they are going to be like! I have been surprised many more times than just once! During exercise, we just usually do push ups, sit ups, good ol stuff like that. Sometimes we run, but not to often. We do walk a lot! I dont know if Im just really hard on shoes, but one pair of mine already have holes in them..and those ones hurt to wear now, so Ive stopped wearing those ones. Theres a thrift shop really close to our appartment that has really nice stuff for pretty cheap..So I might be able to find another pair, if these next shoes wear out pretty quick. Hopefully they dont though. Another thing is I think my toothbrush charger got fried..it doesnt really charge my tooth brush anymore, and takes forever if its even charging. So thats kinda sad. I do get pictures, which are awesome! I love getting those! I have heard from a fair amount of people. I loved the shirt, and the nerf guns! They were awesome! Thank you for your email mama!! I look forward to hearing from everyone each week! I love you all lots! Until next week!
