Wow!!!
Why hello there everyone back home! How goes things back in the states? I hope that all is going exactly as you wish!! Man, this week passed by so dang fast its unbelievable. Well..let me think, I don't think that I have any questions or anything to talk about right at the beginning, so I will just jump right into my week! Lets see..Tuesday!
So we are now sort of making a tradition of doing service each week at the F house on Tuesday night. They live in a pretty nice home, but its very old, and the yard is in rough shape. So last week we were working in their front yard. So last week consisted of digging up grass and pulling weeds. It was a lot of fun. As much as I love walking the streets trying to find people to teach, it was a nice break to do some service!! Real, good, outside, hard work. Good stuff like that. Then to end up the night, we ate with them!! Im not going to lie, I'm not particularly a fan of their style of eating. They eat everything organic. I have nothing against all that, but what we ate last week just kinda felt like cardboard..haha. But they are just super nice people, and I love them! I love going to their house for service each week!
Okay, next comes E! E is the other most recent convert to this small branch. I haven't written about him because I haven't met him until just this past week! So about 4 months ago, he got baptized, then went to Africa to visit his family, and just recently returned! He is from Ghana, and is just a super nice old man. We saw him a few times this past week, and he is always just a super happy smiling man! He had no other way to get to church, so he ended up walking quite a long ways to get there!! Super cool guy!
Speaking of super cool guys, we also had a nice rendez-vous with a man named Mr. H. He is a Tahitian man we met about a month ago that said we could pass back in a couple of weeks. So we were in his neighborhood, and decided to pass by! He opened the door, saw us, let us in, sat us down with a glass of water, and said go! Explain to me the Mormons. He was so ready to have us over, and so open to learning, it was incredible! We had a nice rendez-vous, and set up another! Right after we finished, he said, "Wait, I have one more question. Whats your deal with polygamy?" Ah, the question. Haha, everyone thinks we still practice that, and that we should all have long beards and ride horses. So we cleared all that up, and are seeing him again this Friday! I'm excited! I love Tahitians!
This week we had a baptism in the Lorient branch! The other Elders baptized a man named C. He is really nice. Funny story with that though..so two days before the baptism, they were over at his house, and he was showing them a rifle. He pulled it off the wall, showing them that it was loaded, but would never fire because it was so old, but then it fired!!! Right in the living room of his house, creating a huge hole in the floor! The other Elders quickly left, terrified out of their minds!! Thinking they almost died! So O's email subject this week was, "Bullets and Baptism" Haha! I thought it was funny. Oh, so J and J. They came to C's baptism and loved it! Then J came to church the next day all by herself! J wasn't able to make it, but J still came! Oh man, they are really super. They are really doing well.
Last monday, I had a freak sickness. I started not feeling good during emails, then by the night I was doing awful! Then by noon the next day I was feeling a little woozy, but doing better, then I was completely better. It was super weird. Random fact for you. Lets see..this week we also saw F again to make crepes!! We watched the restoration with him, and he enjoyed it! Then to finish up our week, we went to this place called Fort Bloqué yesterday. Its called Fort Bloqué because when the tide comes in, you cant get off unless by boat. Otherwise there is a trail of rocks you can walk on to get there. It is right off the side of the beach.
We were contacting all along the beach yesterday, and it was absolutely beautiful weather!! It was such a nice day, with an amazing view. It was a great ending to a great week! So..now to explain my subject. Today I hit 8 months on the mission, so thats why I titled it, "Well, that makes a moment, I think" Because time has flown so very fast it is absolutely ridiculous!! Well, thank you all so much for everything that you do! I love and miss you all very much!! Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Hamilton
